Mick Godden the Engine Master
Mick eats and breaths cars. He always wanted to build engines. He left school at 13 and that’s exactly what he’s done ever since. He loves having a drink at the pub with his mates and can’t wait to drive across the Nullarbor….again!
What did you want to do when you were a kid?
I always wanted to build and race cars – anything to do with cars really. I left school at 13 and have been building engines ever since.
What’s your first car memory?
Getting my first car, a Holden HK Premier. My dad was a spray painter/panel beater….a bit of a jack of all trades with cars. He got me the car when I was 11.….it all started from there. Dad taught me how to paint, I even had a go at taking the motor out….that didn’t go to well the first time around haha!!
Who taught you to drive and in what.
My dad in the Holden HK Premier. My uncle had a property in Lara so between my dad and my uncle I learnt to drive on the property.
What car do you currently drive?
Holden VS UTE…..with a few mods of course
What was the last concert you went to & where.
Limp Bizkit in Melbourne
Ford or Holden?
If you were driving from Melbourne to Darwin who would you have in the car with you (up to 4 people) and what would you be listening to?
I’d go with my best mates Chris and Jayden. We’ve actually done a few big drives together already. We’d be listening to some classic Aussie tunes.
Where’s you’re favourite place to drive?
The Great Ocean Road and the Nullarbor. I’ve done the Nullarbor a few times already and I can’t wait to do it again. The next trip a few of us are going to head out on Harley’s up to Broome across to Darwin then back down the centre. You gotta do it with a few mates, you wouldn’t do it on your own. Hit the open road and go for it!
Where’s the best place to have a drink.
