Upgraded ‘Tinting Guide’ posters set the tone.
Accurate, informative colour tools are one of the keys to helping paint technicians minimise colour matching time and it is here that PPG continues to offer a market leading advantage. For example, the local PPG Team has recently released a significantly upgraded ‘Tinting Guide’ posters for customers using the advanced ENVIROBASE® High Performance waterborne basecoat system. Based on detailed feedback from current users, the upgraded posters have been specifically designed to provide quick, at a glance recommendations for colour matching situations when tinting may be required.
The new posters utilise an innovative visual pictogram system. According to Mike Henry, PPG Global Colour Tools and Colour Variant Manager, it has been specifically developed so paint technicians can look at the pictograms to quickly locate toner qualities and their impact on the overall mix. ‘Face’ and ‘flop’ colour characteristics are easily identified and this particularly helpful when colour travel is important. In addition, the pictograms address pearls, aluminiums, special effects and more.
The intent is to provide the most advanced, accurate and efficient colour tools assist the technician in moving swiftly and simply to the targeted colour match, says Mike. “With all the new car colours and effects OEMs are bringing out, we need to make sure our customers have all the colour tools they require. The new tint guides are a solid addition to the PPG colour toolbox.”
