Variety Vic Bash Announces THE BIG GIVE…Fraser Island 2017!

The 2017 Variety Bash journey will begin in Melbourne on Friday 18 August and will spend the first two nights in Traralgon and Lakes Entrance. Bashers will be able to see their fundraising dollars at work across the region and take part in several major grant presentations for children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs and the organisations that support them.

On the first two days’ travel, Bashers will experience the area’s diverse mountain ranges, lakes, beaches and farmland and get to know their 2017 Bash family.

Departing Victoria, the Variety Bash will drive through forest tracks and rugged National Parks winding north to the picturesque coastal town of Narooma, situated on the far south coast of NSW.

Back inland, Bashers will take the short journey into Canberra and take in all the sights of the nation’s capital – from Parliament House to the renowned Australian War Memorial.

Beyond Canberra, they’ll travel through a rapidly changing landscape to Newcastle, a harbour city which started out as a large convict colony before it became a centre for industry.
Continuing through NSW, past historic townships and rolling hills dotted with farms and grazing land, Bashers will head back to the coast for an overnight stop in Coffs Harbour – home of stunning beaches, World Heritage rainforests and the Big Banana!

Speaking of bananas, it’s time to hit Queensland! The ‘Garden City’ of Toowoomba awaits the posse on the edge of the Great Dividing Range – 700 metres above sea level, overlooking the Lockyer Valley – a stunning place to stop overnight in southern Queensland.

Toowoomba also marks the final leg of the journey; Bashers will travel to River Heads to board the ferry to take them to their final desitnation – Fraser Island.

Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world, it is the only place in the world where rain forests grow on the beach. Home for the next two nights will be the Kingfisher Bay Resort, a purpose built ecotourism hotel. Everyone will be able to relax and enjoy themselves after their epic road trip with bars, restaurants, cafes, night club, tennis courts, water sports and massage – and to top it all off – August is prime time for whale watching.

To celebrate, everything will be taken care of – from parking for your car, ferry rides, airport transfers and an awesome final night party!
